About KVDA

Kalash Valley Development Authority was established under section 19 of the Tourism Act 2019 of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The authority is governed by the Special Purpose Kalash Valleys Development Authority Rules 2020. The authority is managed and guided by the Authority Board. The board consists of 12 members, including 4 private sector experts in the tourism field and 8 Government officers. The core objective of the authority is the preservation of Kalash culture and heritage, the promotion of sustainable tourism, livelihood diversification, and the creation of linkages with relevant stakeholders. This authority can execute various initiatives, including initiatives related to education, healthcare, infrastructure development, tourism promotion, cultural preservation, and socio-economic empowerment.

To foster sustainable development, preserve the unique cultural heritage, and enhance the socio-economic well-being of the Communities of Kalash Valley as well as to create a model of sustainable development that showcases the harmonious coexistence of nature, culture, and progress.

KVDA's Mission

To improve local livelihoods, safeguard cultural identity, and promote responsible tourism by developing essential infrastructure and community-led initiatives that support a balanced and sustainable future for the Kalash Valleys.
