Documentation of Petroglyph Sites Underway

Kalash Valleys Development Authority (KVDA) has initiated the documentation process of at least 50 rock surfaces containing ancient petroglyphs across the valleys. This important cultural preservation effort includes:
📍 Digital geo-positioning of each rock with petroglyphs
📸 Photography in natural condition
✏️ Photography after chalking to highlight engraved images
🔍 Interpretation and analysis of the petroglyphs
📜 Historical description of each site to record its cultural significance
Recently, one major petroglyph in Rumbur has been successfully restored under the direction of Director General KVDA, marking a significant step toward safeguarding the heritage of the Kalash region.
KVDA remains committed to preserving the unique cultural legacy of the Kalash Valleys for future generations.
