KVDA Good Governance Initiative – Waste & Sewerage Assessment Completed
In pursuance of the Good Governance vision of the Chief Secretary, the Kalash Valleys Development Authority (KVDA), with technical support from AKAH, has successfully completed a comprehensive audit and assessment of waste management and sewerage systems across Bumburait, Rumbur, and Birir.
Using village-wise GIS imagery and geo-spatial analysis, detailed assessments were conducted for:
✔️ Household sewerage
✔️ Hotel and tourism industry sanitation
✔️ Waste generation and disposal practices
Based on the identified needs, the KVDA Board has approved Rs. 3.9 million for the rectification and improvement of sewerage and sanitation systems across the hotel industry, in close consultation with the Hotel Association of Kalash Valleys.
Furthermore, a separate project for decentralized sewerage systems in major villages of the Kalash Valleys has been prepared and will be approved soon.
With strong community collaboration, the Kalash Valleys have become the first region to adopt modern tools, detailed GIS-based assessments, and structured interventions to improve waste and sewerage management.
Together, we are working for a cleaner, healthier, and sustainable Kalash Valley.
کالاش وادیوں میں شفاف طرزِ حکمرانی کی جانب اہم پیش رفت
چیف سیکرٹری کی ہدایات پر بہتر حکمرانی کے عمل کو آگے بڑھاتے ہوئے، کالاش ویلیز ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی نے آغا خان ایجنسی فار ہیبی ٹیٹ کی معاونت سے بمبوریت، رمبور اور بریر وادیوں میں کوڑا کرکٹ کی تلفی، نکاسیٔ آب اور رہائشی و کاروباری مقامات خصوصاً ہوٹلوں کے فضلے کے نظام کا تفصیلی جائزہ اور مکمل جانچ پڑتال مکمل کرلی ہے۔
اس مقصد کے لیے ہر گاؤں کی نقشہ جاتی تصویریں، زمینی حقائق، اور محلِ وقوع پر مبنی جامع معائنہ جدید طریقۂ کار کے تحت کیا گیا۔ ضرورت کے تعین کے بعد اتھارٹی کے بورڈ نے ہوٹل صنعت میں نکاسیٔ آب اور صفائی کے نظام کی بہتری کے لیے انتالیس لاکھ روپے کی منظوری دے دی ہے، جو ہوٹل مالکان کی باہمی مشاورت سے عمل میں لائے جائیں گے۔
اس کے ساتھ ساتھ وادیوں کے بڑے دیہات میں غیرمرکزی نکاسیٔ آب کے نئے منصوبے بھی تیار کرلیے گئے ہیں جو جلد منظوری کے لیے پیش کیے جائیں گے۔
کمیونٹی کی شمولیت کے ساتھ کالاش وادیاں صفائی، نکاسیٔ آب اور ماحول کے تحفظ کے لیے جدید ترین طریقے اپنانے والی پہلی وادیاں بن رہی ہیں—جو نہ صرف ایک تاریخی قدم ہے بلکہ آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے ایک محفوظ اور صحت مند ماحول کی ضمانت بھی ہے
